Mortenson is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer I with a strong background in civil and utility construction to implement Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites and promote a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors. Must be open to a rotational travel schedule of 3 weeks on 4/5 days off with projects located throughout the United States.

A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) plus CHST/OSHA credentials and several years of construction safety

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent.
• OR
• High school diploma with CHST Certification, OSHA 500, and a minimum of 10 years construction experience leading crews and planning work, to include at least six years as a dedicated construction safety professional responsible for managing project safety programs, conducting / reviewing hazard analyses and developing controls, conducting safety training, and planning work activities or equivalent experience in a relevant field
• Minimum of four years of construction safety experience supporting civil and/or underground utility scopes including excavations, trenching, underground utilities, and heavy equipment operations.

Responsabilidades

• Implement and administer safety programs at worksites, including site-specific safety activities and training programs
• Document and track safety violations, conduct safety audits, and analyze loss control data
• Lead OSHA reporting, monitor subcontractor activities, and review safety submittals
• Record, monitor, and analyze safety, injury, and hazard statistics
• Provide safety-related information, evaluate industrial hygiene concerns, and maintain knowledge of safety standards
• Serve as a resource for safety issues, attend safety meetings, and assist with major incident analysis
• Work with client safety personnel, union representatives, and insurance risk engineers
• Ensure maintenance and inspection of safety equipment and build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
