Job summary

Universal Dedicated, Inc., a subsidiary of Universal Logistics Holdings, Inc., is seeking a Dispatch Coordinator to align daily routes, driver assignments, and customer communications to ensure on-time delivery.

You will monitor shipments, assist with scheduling, and uphold DOT regulations and safety standards while collaborating with customers and operations leadership to resolve issues and improve service performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in supply chain, logistics, transportation, business, or related field.
• Experience in transportation, dispatch, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, customer service, or operations preferred.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office apps.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily routes and driver assignments to ensure on-time service.
• Serve as primary contact for drivers, customers, dispatch, and leadership.
• Monitor freight movement and communicate shipment updates and delays.
• Support driver scheduling, attendance, and staffing requirements.
• Ensure DOT and company policy compliance; coach and provide feedback.
• Maintain reports and compliance records; support dispatch operations.
• Collaborate with customer representatives to resolve concerns and support production requirements.
• Promote safety, accountability, and customer service.
• Drive continuous improvement for operational efficiency and service performance.
