Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is hiring a Senior Robotics Systems Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team for a complex surgical robotic platform. The role focuses on translating clinical needs into robust system requirements, ensuring cohesive hardware, software, and control integration.

The position emphasizes regulatory submissions, design control, and collaboration across engineering, clinical, and quality teams to deliver safe, high‑performing systems across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in systems engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or related field.
• Experience with medical devices and safety‑critical systems is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of V-model, SDLC, and design controls.

Responsibilities

• Define system architecture and decompose system functionality into testable requirements for a complex robotic platform.
• Ensure end‑to‑end requirements lifecycle with clear traceability from user needs to verification and validation.
• Collaborate across hardware, software, controls, mechanical, clinical, and V&V teams to ensure robust, safe, and compliant system performance.
• Lead design reviews, risk management, and regulatory readiness, aligning with FDA, ISO 13485, and IEC standards.
• Drive design-for-reliability practices, DoE, and MBSE usage to support product lifecycle goals.
• Support product launch activities, manufacturing readiness, and post‑market surveillance.
