Johnson & Johnson's Robotics and Digital Solutions (RAD) group in Santa Clara, CA, is recruiting a Senior Robotics and Controls Engineer for the Strategic Robotics R&D Team to advance a world-class medical robotic platform. This role is located in Santa Clara, CA.

You will join a cross-disciplinary team of clinical, electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, robotic controls, and software engineers, contributing to autonomous, minimally invasive robotic care and next-generation capabilities that

Qualifications

BS in Computer Science or a related technical discipline with 6+ years robotics experience.
MS with 4+ years robotics experience in electro-mechanical systems.
PhD with 1+ years robotics experience in electro-mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

Work on a focused multi-functional team developing robotic solutions for next generation medical robotic systems
Develop novel methods for human-robot interaction, incorporating feedback from clinicians
Collaborate with instrument and capital hardware engineers to implement and test algorithms
Design and implement software in a real-time, safety-critical environment
Develop test protocols for evaluating algorithms and hardware/software performance
Quickly implement concept proofs and prototypes, and test on systems
Participate in design discussions, code reviews, procedure development, and clinical procedures
