Job summary

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Senior Robotics Systems Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for the development of a complex surgical robotic platform. The role ensures cohesive system behavior across hardware, software, controls, and clinical workflows with rigorous design control in line with FDA and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in systems engineering, Mechatronics Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in multidisciplinary systems engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in surgical robotic systems or complex multidisciplinary medical devices.
• Knowledge of embedded systems, firmware/software testing, and electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Define system architecture and decomposition of functionality for a complex surgical robotic platform.
• Own end-to-end requirements lifecycle with traceability across clinical and business objectives.
• Collaborate across hardware, software, controls, mechanical, clinical, and V&V teams to ensure testable, real-world aligned requirements.
• Lead system‑level design reviews and risk mitigation reviews for regulatory readiness.
• Drive design-for-reliability practices and MBSE usage to manage architecture and interfaces.
