Job summary

Johnson & Johnson MedTech is hiring a Senior Navigation Systems Engineering Manager in a hybrid role based in Raynham or Boston, MA. You will lead a multidisciplinary systems engineering team for a complex surgical navigation platform, ensuring cohesive hardware, software, and clinical workflow alignment.

You will own end-to-end requirements, drive risk management per ISO 14971, and collaborate with HF, Clinical, and Quality teams to meet regulatory submissions and product launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in systems engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or related field.
• At least 7+ years of multidisciplinary systems engineering experience.
• 5+ years in surgical robotic systems or navigation systems/complex medical devices.
• 3+ years leading systems engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and product lifecycle.
• Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama, Polarion).
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary systems engineering for a complex surgical navigation platform.
• Own end-to-end requirements lifecycle with traceability from user needs to verification.
• Collaborate across hardware, software, controls, mechanical, clinical, and V&V teams.
• Lead system architecture for integrated hardware and software within a safety-critical device.
• Lead risk management per ISO 14971 and support regulatory compliance activities.
• Own software subsystem requirements and use cases aligned with workflows.
• Guide design reviews, risk mitigation, and interfaces across domains.
• Support regulatory submissions and product launches with cross-functional teams.
• Interface with regulatory, quality, manufacturing, and clinical teams for audits.
