Job summary

PackageX is seeking a Senior Robotics Solutions Engineer to lead the integration of robotics with our platform in enterprise distribution centers. You will design and commission robot control, motion sequencing, safety architectures, and the interface with PLCs, fleet managers, and conveyors.

This role is customer-facing, tech-forward, and requires hands-on onsite work plus remote development. You will drive field discovery, define cell baselines, and ensure robust end-to-end performance from

Qualifications

• Production experience programming and commissioning industrial robotic arms (Yaskawa Motoman, Fanuc, ABB, KUKA or Universal Robots).
• Fluency in robot motion: kinematics, frames, tool center points, path planning, singularties, palletizing patterns.
• Teach pendant usage and drift understanding over production.
• Functional safety knowledge per ISO 10218/TS 15066; safety PLCs and risk assessment.
• Controls integration with PLCs, sensors, conveyors and sortation.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery onsite; establish baseline hardware and controls for a cell.
• Design, build and commission control and motion logic for palletizing and sortation cells.
• Own the functional safety story end to end for product shipments.
• Develop the command and telemetry interface between PackageX and robot controllers.
• Translate vision model outputs into safe machine actions and handle uncertainty.
• Address failure modes and ensure reliable operator surfaces and dashboards.
• Deliver handoff with documentation, tests, and internal training.
