Sun Recruiting, Inc. seeks a Senior Robotics & Controls Engineer for turnkey systems integration in the Greater Milwaukee area.

You will lead ground-up automation projects from design kickoff to commissioning, collaborating with top automation teams to deliver high-complexity systems for global manufacturing clients. The role requires 4–6 years of robotics/PLC/vision experience, proficiency with Fanuc/Yaskawa/ABB, and travel 30–40% with a strong commitment to quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

2- or 4-year engineering degree required.
4–6 years of robotic, PLC, and vision integration experience.
Hands-on mastery of Fanuc, Yaskawa, or ABB platforms with PLC troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency with industrial vision systems, offline simulation tools, CAD/SolidWorks.
Diagnose and debug complex automated machinery across robotic, electrical, fluid power, and mechanical domains.
Willingness to travel 30–40% and reside within 45-minute commute of Greater Milwaukee, WI.

Responsibilities

Initialize robotic platforms, calibrate I/O networks, and configure robot cells.
Design control logic coordinating with master PLC controllers and equipment.
Deploy vision systems for guidance, inspection, and high-speed handling.
Lead in-house assembly, wiring verification, and EOAT integration.
Execute field commissioning with 30–40% travel to client sites.
Support applications engineering with layout insights and feasibility data.
Mentor in-house personnel to optimize build workflows and meet client specs.
