You will travel 30–40% for field commissioning, own design and build from kickoff to final on-site commissioning, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

2- or 4-year engineering degree required.
4–6 years of dedicated robotics & PLC integration experience on custom machinery.
Hands-on mastery of Fanuc, Yaskawa, or ABB robot platforms with strong PLC skills.
Proficiency with industrial vision systems, CAD/SolidWorks, and offline simulators.
Ability to diagnose complex automated machinery across robotics, electrical, and mechanical domains.
Travel 30–40%; valid driver's license and passport; residency within 45 minutes of Greater Milwaukee, WI.

Responsibilities

Initialize robotic platforms and configure I/O networks on Fanuc, ABB, or Yaskawa systems.
Design control logic and architecture to ensure seamless PLC handshaking with equipment.
Deploy vision systems for guidance, inspection, and fast handling.
Lead in-house assembly, wiring verification, and EOAT integration.
Execute field commissioning with 30–40% travel to sites worldwide.
Support applications engineering with layout insights and feasibility data.
Mentor junior staff to optimize build workflows and meet specs.
