Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP in Fairfax, VA is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join the Transportation team, developing roadway plans for VDOT and localities, and leading multidisciplinary design efforts.

The role requires a BSCE from ABET-accredited program, 5–10 years of transportation experience, roadway design experience (VDOT preferred), strong communication, independence and teamwork, and proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads and Office tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 5-10 years of relevant transportation engineering experience.
• Roadway design experience required (preferably with VDOT).
• Ability to effectively communicate orally/written at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• EIT or PE license preferred.
• Experience with design software tools including MicroStation and OpenRoads is preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.

Responsibilities

• The Roadway Engineer will participate in the planning and design on transportation related projects.
• Lead multidiscipline design teams in the delivery of major transportation improvement projects across Virginia.
