Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP, a long-established firm, is seeking a Roadway Engineer in Richmond, VA. The role involves leading transportation projects, designing roadway alignments, QA/QC of contract documents, 3D surfaces, and NEPA/SEPA documentation, while mentoring staff and managing budgets and schedules.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited) and a VA PE license or the ability to obtain within six months; 11–15 years of roadway experience preferred, with

Qualifications

BS Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
PE license in VA or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Experience with VDOT Design-Did-Build/Design-Build/CMGC projects.
Roadway design experience across diverse facilities and interchanges.
Experience with design software: MicroStation, In-Roads, GEOPAK.

Responsibilities

Lead roadway design and prepare contract documents for construction.
Mentor and train junior staff; plan work, budgets, and schedules.
Coordinate with clients and manage multiple projects and teams.
