Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP, in Virginia Beach, VA, is seeking an experienced Roadway Engineer to join its civil engineering team. You will work on multi-disciplinary projects to design roadways and interchanges for state and local clients.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program, 5–10 years of roadway experience, strong communication, and the ability to work independently and in teams. Virginia PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5–10 years of civil engineering experience, roadway focus.
• Roadway design experience is a plus (VDOT preferred).
• Strong oral and written communication across organizational levels.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; handle multiple tasks.
• PE license in Virginia is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning and design on transportation projects.
• Design roadways, intersections, roundabouts and interchanges meeting guidelines.
• Work on a multi-disciplinary team to develop roadway transportation plans.
• Collaborate with state and local agencies (VDOT and municipal).
