Job summary

Adventist Health Castle in Kailua is seeking an experienced RN leader to oversee a defined unit, maintaining safe, high‑quality care and efficient operations. You will supervise nursing and ancillary staff, schedule daily activities, and partner with physicians and leadership to meet unit goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience.
• Two years' experience of acute care nursing in hospital setting.
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
• CPR/BLS certification per AH policy.
• NRP certification per AH policy.
• FHM: Required.
• ACLS certification per AH policy.
• TEAM/TEAM-A: Required.

Responsibilities

• Builds a strong infrastructure with designated charge nurses and unit champions.
• Works closely with staff, unit champions, and the clinical educator to identify and meet educational needs.
• Sets and strives to achieve goals for patient safety, quality of care and regulatory compliance.
• Develops strategies to improve patient/family, and physician satisfaction.
• Establishes standards of care for professional nursing practice.
• Monitors processes and outcomes through audits and data analysis.
• Conducts daily rounds with physicians and staff to coordinate care.
• Directs/monitors personnel to ensure quality patient care.
• Initiates and coordinates care plans and revises as needed.
• Assesses unit staffing needs and manages overtime and scheduling.
• Ensures equipment safety and operational readiness.
• Conducts emergency preparedness reviews.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience

Two years' experience of acute care nursing in hospital setting

Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy

National specialty certification in area of expertise or in nursing administration

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from approved vendor per AH policy

Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM): Required

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy

Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or TEAM-A: Required
