Job summary

Adventist Health Castle in Kailua is seeking an experienced nurse leader to manage a defined unit on shift, ensuring safe, complication‑free patient care and optimizing functional independence for each patient. Maintains a highly visible presence on the unit and collaborates with staff, physicians, and leadership to drive effective operations.

You will supervise nursing and ancillary personnel, coordinate daily activities, and lead educational initiatives while aligning with organizational goals

Qualifications

• Nurse leadership and supervision experience.
• Knowledge of patient safety and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to oversee unit staffing and education.

Responsibilities

• Builds a strong infrastructure with unit leaders and champions.
• Works with staff, educators, and clinicians to meet educational needs.
• Sets and strives to achieve goals for patient safety, quality of care and compliance.
• Develops strategies to improve patient/family and physician satisfaction.
• Schedules and coordinates daily unit activities and staffing.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience

Two years' experience of acute care nursing in hospital setting

Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice

CPR certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy

National specialty certification in area of expertise or in nursing administration

Facility Specific License/Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from approved vendor per AH policy

Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM): Required

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy

Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or TEAM-A: Required
