Job summary

M.C. Dean seeks a Rigging 2 professional to lead nonroutine rigging work and guide teams in complex lift operations at job sites. The candidate will validate load information, review data, and ensure safe, compliant lifting practices, coordinating with crane operators and safety personnel.

The role requires extensive hands-on rigging expertise, strict adherence to safety standards, and the ability to mentor less experienced personnel in Rigging 1 and 2 roles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 4 years of rigging experience.
• Current CCO Signalperson (SGP) certification.
• Current CCO RIG-I and RIG-II certifications.
• Documented employer practical qualification for assigned rigging duties.
• Forklift/telehandler, aerial lift or MEWP, chain-hoist, jacking qualifications when assigned.
• Working knowledge of lift plans, manufacturer requirements, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead hazard reviews for nonroutine lifts and assess load stability, weather, and access.
• Review lift packages and site conditions for load weight and CG.
• Determine or validate load weight and CG; calculate sling-leg tension for complex arrangements.
• Select and verify multi-leg systems and attachments for capacity and approval.
• Develop rigging arrangements for irregular or difficult loads within approved limits.
