Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a skilled Rigging 2 professional to lead nonroutine lifts and ensure safe, precise handling of complex loads at ModularMission Critical.

You will validate load data, plan rigging configurations, and supervise pre-lift activities across teams, with an emphasis on safety and compliance. Ideal candidates have current CCO Signalperson and RIG certifications, a strong track record in rigging leadership, and the ability to mentor junior crew while coordinating with crane operators

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with four years of rigging experience, or equivalent.
• Current CCO Signalperson (SGP) certification.
• Current CCO RIG-I and RIG-II certifications.
• Documented employer practical qualification for assigned rigging duties.
• Forklift or telehandler, aerial lift or MEWP, chain-hoist, jacking, skating, and project- or site-specific qualifications when assigned.
• Working knowledge of lift plans and regulatory requirements for assigned work.
• Ability to lead nonroutine rigging work and provide clear technical direction in the field.

Responsibilities

• Lead hazard reviews for nonroutine lifts, including load stability, energy, access, obstructions, weather, and concurrent work.
• Review lift packages, drawings, data, and site conditions for weight, CG, pick points, clearances, and sequence.
• Determine or validate load weight and CG; calculate sling tension and load distribution.
• Select and verify multi-leg systems, beams, hoists, attachments for capacity and approval.
• Develop rigging arrangements for difficult loads and protect lifting points.
• Lead pre-lift briefings and plan signaling coverage and handoffs.
• Direct test lifts and controlled movements to final placement.
• Coordinate with crane operators, safety personnel, and installation teams to avoid conflicts.
• Lead recovery when a load must be landed or re-rigged due to changing conditions.
• Identify when formal reviews are required and prevent unapproved changes.
• Inspect and troubleshoot rigging gear and stored-energy controls.
• Lead small rigging teams and mentor Rigging Helper and Rigging 1 roles; document issues.
