Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Rigging 2 specialist to lead nonroutine, complex lifts at job sites.

You will validate load information, select rigging arrangements, and coordinate pre-lift preparations with crane operators and safety personnel. You will supervise junior rigging staff, document near misses and corrective actions, and ensure compliance with lift plans and regulatory requirements. Strong leadership and practical rigging expertise are essential to safely move heavy loads at heights up

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience.
• Current CCO Signalperson (SGP) certification.
• Current CCO RIG-I and RIG-II certifications.
• Documented employer practical qualification for assigned rigging duties.
• Forklift/telehandler, aerial lift or MEWP qualifications when assigned.
• Working knowledge of lift plans and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to lead nonroutine rigging work and provide technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Lead hazard reviews for nonroutine lifts and coordinate safety.
• Review lift packages, data, and site conditions for load weight and CG.
• Determine load weight, CG, sling tension and load distribution.
• Select and verify multi-leg systems, beams, hoists and attachments.
• Develop rigging arrangements for difficult loads within approved limits.
• Lead pre-lift briefings and signal coverage planning.
• Direct test lifts and controlled handoffs to final placement.
• Coordinate with crane operators and safety personnel to prevent conflicts.
• Lead recovery if repositioning or re-rigging is required.
