Job summary

NBT in Iowa seeks a Compliance Specialist III to prepare increasingly complex compliance filings and mentor teammates while ensuring accuracy and adherence to our service standards. You will review filings, support plan administrators, and develop processes to improve efficiency, with strong ASPPA QKA credentials and advanced math skills.

This role requires collaboration across teams and a commitment to quality.

Qualifications

Associates degree with 5+ years related experience or equivalent.
ASPPA QKA designation required.
Ability to read and interpret retirement documents and guidelines.
Ability to write reports and emails, and collaborate across the company.
Advanced math skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

40% Prepare compliance tests and year end packages, review eligibility and contributions, perform nondiscrimination and related tests.
15% Prepare and publish Form 5500, 5330, 8955-SSA and other regulatory forms; reconcile forms for large filers.
10% Maintain knowledge of moderate complexity plans and expand to complex plans over time.
10% Research and resolve testing and 5500 issues; mentor others and improve processes.
5% Prepare asset reconciliation and plan valuation support.
5% Prepare outside asset and balance forward allocations and participant validations.
5% Prepare Plan Documents (Restatements, Amendments, SPDs, Notices).
5% Assist with QDRO allocations and corrective earnings calculations.
5% Perform other duties as assigned.
