Job summary

NBT seeks a Compliance Specialist III to prepare complex compliance filings and review colleagues' submissions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to department procedures. You will mentor teammates and contribute to the quality of year-end filings and government reports.

Required ASPPA QKA designation, an associates degree with 5+ years of related experience, and strong Excel/Word skills. This is a full-time role based in Illinois with a competitive pay range and benefits.

Qualifications

• Associates degree and 5+ years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• ASPPA QKA designation required.
• Strong math and spreadsheet skills with Excel and Word.
• Ability to read complex retirement documents and guidelines.
• Ability to mentor and train team members.

Responsibilities

• Prepare compliance tests and year-end packages including eligibility, contributions, and tests.
• Prepare, review, and publish Form 5500, Form 5330, Form 8955-SSA and related forms.
• Maintain knowledge of moderate and complex plan types and learn more advanced structures.
• Research and resolve testing and 5500 issues; mentor others and collaborate across teams.
• Prepare asset reconciliations and plan documents as needed.
• Assist with QDRO allocations and corrective earnings calculations.
