Job summary

NBT is seeking a Compliance Specialist III to prepare increasingly complex compliance and government filings within our service standards and department procedures. You will review filings, ensure accuracy, and mentor teammates in a collaborative environment.

Ideal candidates have an Associate degree with 5+ years of experience and a QKA designation, plus strong Excel/Word skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks across teams.

Qualifications

• Associates degree and 5+ years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• ASPPA Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare compliance tests and year end packages including eligibility determinations, contribution calculations and various tests (ADP/ACP, 415, 416, 410(b)).
• Prepare, review, and publish Form 5500, Form 5330, Form 8955-SSA and related schedules for large filer plans.
• Maintain knowledge of moderate complexity plans and learn more complex plans such as cross-tested and defined benefit plans.
• Research and resolve testing and 5500 issues, mentor others, and help establish best practices.
• Prepare asset reconciliation and balance forward earnings allocations as needed.
