Job summary

NBT is seeking a Compliance Specialist III in Texas to lead complex compliance filings and ensure accuracy within established service standards. The role includes mentoring colleagues and reviewing filings for quality and regulatory adherence.

Required ASPPA QKA designation and an Associates degree with 5+ years of experience in retirement plans. Proficiency with Excel/Word is essential to analyze data and prepare detailed reports for internal teams.

Qualifications

• Associates degree with 5+ years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• ASPPA Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation required.
• Ability to read and interpret retirement plans and government filings.
• Strong math and data analysis skills; proficiency with Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex compliance tests and year-end packages, including plan eligibility and contributions calculations, and reviewer self-audit.
• Prepare and publish Form 5500, Form 5330, Form 8955-SSA and related schedules; assist with audits.
• Maintain knowledge of moderate-to-complex plans and evolving regulations.
• Research and resolve testing and 5500 issues; mentor team members and improve processes.
• Prepare asset reconciliations and plan documentation as needed.
• Assist with QDRO allocations and corrective earnings calculations.
