Job summary

NBT Bank is seeking a Compliance Specialist III to manage increasingly complex compliance and government filings, ensuring accuracy and quality. You will mentor teammates and review filings to meet department procedures and service standards.

Requirements include an Associates degree with 5+ years of experience or equivalent, ASPPA QKA designation, and strong skills in Excel/Word along with analytical abilities. This is a full-time role based in Illinois.

Qualifications

• Associates degree with 5+ years related experience or equivalent.
• ASPPA Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation required.
• Ability to read and interpret retirement documents, prepare reports and communicate across the company.
• Strong math skills and proficiency with Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex compliance tests and year-end packages with appropriate testing and contributions.
• Prepare, review, and publish Form 5500, 5330, 8955-SSA and other regulatory forms.
• Maintain knowledge of various plans and perform advanced testing.
• Research and resolve 5500 issues; mentor other team members.
• Prepare asset reconciliations and research plan valuation differences.
• Assist with plan documents and QDRO allocations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
