Job summary

NBT Bank is seeking a Compliance Specialist III in Wisconsin to handle complex compliance and government filings within standard procedures. You will review filings, mentor teammates, and ensure accuracy of deliverables, with a focus on quality and regulatory adherence.

The role requires an Associate degree with 5+ years of related experience and a QKA designation. Proficiency in Excel/Word and strong analytical skills are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Associates degree with 5+ years related experience or equivalent combination.
• ASPPA Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as retirement adoption agreements, program manuals, and government instructions and guidance.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word; strong numerical and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare compliance tests and year-end packages including eligibility, allocation and various compliance tests, with peer review as needed.
• Prepare, review and publish Form 5500, Form 5330, Form 8955-SSA and other required regulatory forms; reconcile forms for large filer plans.
• Maintain knowledge of moderate to complex plan types and research/testing issues; mentor team members.
• Assist with complex issues; work with Managers to develop processes and best practices to ensure service standards.
• Prepare asset reconciliations and research variances for plan valuations, testing and reporting.
• Prepare outside asset and balance forward allocations and participant validations (monthly, quarterly, annually).
• Prepare Plan Documents (Restatements, Amendments, SPDs, notices).
• Assist with QDRO allocations and corrective earnings calculations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
