Job summary

NBT Bank is seeking a Compliance Specialist III to manage increasingly complex compliance and government filings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to department procedures. You will review filings, prepare tests, and mentor teammates.

The role requires an Associate degree with 5+ years of related experience and ASPPA QKA designation. Proficiency in Excel and Word, strong math, and ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates degree and 5+ years related experience, or equivalent.
• Must hold ASPPA QKA designation.
• Ability to read and interpret retirement documents, agreements and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex compliance tests and year-end packages.
• Prepare, review, and publish Form 5500, Form 5330, Form 8955-SSA and other regulatory forms.
• Maintain knowledge of moderate-to-complex retirement plans and testing approaches.
• Research and resolve testing and 5500 issues; mentor team members.
• Prepare asset reconciliations and research differences for plan valuation and reporting.
• Assist with QDRO allocations and other duties as assigned.
