Job summary

First Student is seeking a Retirement Benefits Supervisor to act as a senior contributor responsible for supporting retirement plan administration and compliance. You will partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure accurate, timely benefits support and drive process improvements.

You will lead plan activities, supervise a benefits team, and leverage data analytics using tools like Excel and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
• 9+ years of retirement administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of retirement regulations and compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Experience with unionized workforces and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
• Supervisory or team lead experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Power BI, or similar reporting tools.
• Workday knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Plan Administration & Compliance: Lead key annual retirement plan activities, including nondiscrimination testing, Form 5500 filings and audits, required minimum distributions reviews, and highly compensated employee determinations.
• Team Leadership & Escalation: Resolve escalated retirement plan matters, coach and support team members.
• Data, Systems & Process Improvement: Lead data reviews, clean-up initiatives, and interface validation; analyze benefits data and costs.
• Projects & Stakeholder Partnership: Support special projects and partner with internal stakeholders and vendors.
