Job summary

Ramboll is seeking a Resident Engineer to oversee construction projects from start to finish in the United States. The role requires evaluating design adaptations, applying standard engineering techniques, and coordinating with Construction Superintendents, Project Managers, and field personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology.
• Or an Associate’s degree or technical certification with 4+ years engineering experience.
• Ability to make decisions affecting cost and performance.

Responsibilities

• Utilizing knowledge acquired in obtaining engineering or construction management degree to analyze the engineering concepts of a project.
• Overseeing construction personnel to ensure construction procedures, methods and materials follow those specified in the contract documents. Directing Construction Superintendents, Project Managers, Foreman, etc. to comply with contract documents throughout the duration of a project.
• Utilizing knowledge of technical components of a project to ensure those components meet the engineering requirements of the contract documents.
• Performing engineering calculations throughout the duration of the project to determine such requirements as pump performance, mechanics of concrete, pipeline hydraulics, and electrical adequacy.
• Preparing cash flow calculations from a critical path schedule and schedule of values in order for the project owner to budget total project cost and to monitor contractors progress and scheduled completion.
