Job summary

Ramboll is seeking a Resident Engineer in the Water US, Construction Management Division to oversee municipal water construction projects in the New York region and beyond. The role requires applying standard construction techniques, with collaboration and independent judgment in design adaptations.

You will lead engineers and field personnel, evaluate contract documents, and ensure compliance from project initiation through completion across multiple markets in the Northeast.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology.
• -or- Associate’s degree or technical school certification in science, math, architecture, computing, technical drafting or other relevant technical curriculum, and 4+ years of qualifying engineering experience working in the engineering/design field.
• Ability to make decisions affecting the cost and performance of the work.
• Advanced degree, Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate, Licensed Professional Engineer, Municipal and State Agency experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Utilizing knowledge acquired in obtaining engineering or construction management degree to analyze the engineering concepts of a project.
• Overseeing construction personnel to ensure construction procedures, methods and materials follow those specified in the contract documents.
• Directing Construction Superintendents, Project Managers, Foreman, etc. to comply with contract documents throughout the duration of a project.
• Utilizing knowledge of technical components of a project to ensure those components meet the engineering requirements of the contract documents.
• Performing engineering calculations to determine pump performance, concrete mechanics, pipeline hydraulics, and electrical adequacy.
• Preparing cash flow calculations from a critical path schedule and schedule of values to budget total project cost and monitor contractor progress.
