Job summary

Ramboll is seeking an Electrical Resident Engineer to oversee municipal water construction projects from start to finish. You will apply standard engineering procedures, review submittals, and guide construction personnel to meet contract requirements in a fast-paced environment.

You will perform engineering calculations, assist in change management, and support commissioning activities for electrical systems, with travel to sites as needed. Ramboll supports development and a sustainable future.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related disciplines.
4+ years of qualifying engineering experience in engineering/design field.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills; build and maintain collaborative relationships with all stakeholders (client, contractor, and design disciplines).
General understanding of electrical regulations, standards, and codes.
Valid driver’s license and availability for up to 100% travel (mostly day trips to sites).

Responsibilities

Utilizing knowledge acquired through engineering or construction management degree to analyze the engineering concepts of a project.
Overseeing construction personnel to ensure procedures, methods and materials follow those specified in the contract documents.
Reviewing design criteria, specifications, drawings, submittals, RFI responses, change management, and other pertinent documentation.
Assisting in coordination and constructability review of design phase submittals.
Performing engineering calculations throughout the duration of the project to determine pump performance, concrete mechanics, pipeline hydraulics, and electrical adequacy.
Assisting Design Engineer in developing conceptual change management modifications and scope.
Preparing cash flow calculations from a critical path schedule and schedule of values for the project owner to budget total project cost.
Observing and monitoring contractor progress and scheduled completion through daily reporting and digital photo documentation.
Reviewing contractor payment request estimates for accuracy.
Assisting in commissioning activities for equipment and electrical systems. Overseeing site specific commissioning plans and developing/maintaining logs and checklists.
