Job summary

Ramboll’s Water U.S. Construction Management Division seeks an Electrical Resident Engineer to oversee municipal water construction projects from concept to closeout.

You will apply engineering and construction management theory to ensure contract compliance, lead on-site teams, review design submittals, and participate in commissioning of electrical systems. Role supports the Mid-Atlantic region with potential travel to sites; Ramboll emphasizes development, safety, and a transparent

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field OR Associate’s degree or technical school certification with 4+ years engineering experience.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills; build and maintain collaborative relationships with all stakeholders (client, contractor, and design disciplines)
• General understanding of electrical regulations, standards, and codes.
• General understanding of electrical systems including generators, power supply/distribution, UPS, MCC, VFD, OIT/HMI, SCADA, PLC, RTU, DCS, LPS, SPD, grounding, instrumentation, communications, and security.
• Valid driver’s license and travel availability up to 100% (mostly day trips to sites).

Responsibilities

• Analyze engineering concepts to ensure contract documents meet technical requirements.
• Oversee construction personnel and ensure procedures follow contract documents; direct Superintendents, PMs, Foremen, etc.
• Review design criteria, drawings, submittals, RFIs, change management, and other documentation; assist in constructability reviews.
• Perform engineering calculations for pump performance, concrete mechanics, pipeline hydraulics, and electrical adequacy.
• Assist Design Engineer in developing conceptual change management and scope.
• Prepare cash flow calculations from a critical path schedule and schedule of values; observe contractor progress and review payment estimates.
• Assist in commissioning activities for equipment and electrical systems; oversee commissioning plans and logs; witness performance and startup testing.
