Job summary

Delve Underground, a leader in underground and heavy civil engineering, is seeking a Resident Engineer with 15-20 years of construction management experience in heavy underground construction. This on-site role involves supervising field teams, interfacing with the client, and guiding complex tunneling projects to successful, on-budget completion.

Qualified candidates will have a BS in Civil Engineering, a PE license (preferred), and strong skills in contract administration, scheduling, and team

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Valid PE license is desirable.
• Minimum of 15 years' experience in heavy infrastructure construction including tunnel and shaft construction.
• Knowledge of tunneling, microtunneling, HDD, and shaft excavation is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments and supervise office personnel.
• Strong team building, analytical and technical communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; CAD knowledge is a plus.
• Experience reading contract drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage office personnel, including Office Engineer, Community Liaison, Assistant Resident Engineers, and Inspectors.
• Advise the Client on all critical project tasks and troubleshoot project issues.
• Review field paperwork including RFIs, submittals, schedules, inspection reports, minutes, permitting, change logs, safety plans, and contractor payments.
• Oversee and negotiate Change Orders, Overruns, and Claims.
• Run all construction field meetings and oversee field inspections of the Contractor's work.
• Maintain professional relationships with the Prime Contractor and ensure timely, on-budget project delivery.
• Maintain open communication with the Client to address conflicts and minimize schedule impact.
