Job summary

BKF Engineers in California seeks a senior construction manager to serve as the Owner’s representative on bridge, roadway and general civil construction projects, ensuring work aligns with contract documents.

You will lead project teams, oversee quality control, manage scope, schedule and budgets, coordinate with agencies, conduct meetings, and prepare documentation for state and federal highway requirements.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering.
• California registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.
• 7+ years construction contract management experience related to roadway and/or bridge construction projects.
• Working knowledge of CALTRANS and local agency projects, as well as document coordination on federally funded projects desired.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Owner’s representative on bridge, roadway, and general civil construction projects, ensuring compliance with contract documents.
• Lead and supervise project staff, manage contract administration, budgets, and schedules.
• Review change orders, shop drawings, materials testing, and surveying activities.
• Conduct weekly project meetings and oversee utility coordination.
• Prepare progress and final documentation in compliance with State and Federal Highway Administration requirements.
