Job summary

BKF Engineers in California seeks an experienced construction professional to serve as the Owner’s representative on bridge, roadway, and civil construction projects. You will ensure projects are built in accordance with contract documents and coordinate with inspectors and project teams.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, California PE license, and 8+ years of contract management on roadway/bridge builds; CALTRANS/local agency knowledge is preferred; leadership skills essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• California Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 8+ years construction contract management experience on roadway/bridge projects.
• Knowledge of CALTRANS/local agency projects preferred.
• Ability to manage people effectively.

Responsibilities

• Represent Owner on bridge, roadway and civil construction projects.
• Ensure projects meet contract documents and specifications.
• Manage QA/QC and contract administration.
• Oversee professional/technical staff and project profitability.
• Review change orders, shop drawings and materials testing.
• Conduct weekly project meetings and coordinate utilities.
• Prepare progress and final documentation per FHWA/state requirements.
• Lead coordination with clients and approving agencies.
• Provide technical guidance on civil construction practices.
