Job summary

Accenture Infrastructure & Capital Projects is seeking a licensed California Professional Engineer to oversee highway and roadway construction inspections on major public works projects. The role requires years of hands-on experience in stress analysis and materials testing, with coordination duties across contractors and utilities.

Onsite work at client sites is expected, with opportunities to influence project outcomes and ensure compliance with plans and specifications.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of California.
• Minimum 1 construction highway project for or on Caltrans.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience conducting roadway and highway construction inspection in major public works projects.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with stress analysis, structural mechanics, and strength of materials.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with physical characteristics and properties of various roadway and bridge construction materials including concrete and steel.

Responsibilities

• Provide inspection and quality assurance on highway and roadway construction projects.
• Determine if completed work follows the plans and specifications.
• Coordinate work with the contractor and various public utilities agencies.
• Maintain the records and reports related to the project.
• Coordinate directly with the general contractor and negotiate change orders.
• Assist in inspections to assure compliance with contract plans, specifications, and special provisions on all phases of structural construction.
