Job summary

Accenture is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer in California to join our transportation infrastructure team. You will inspect highway projects for Caltrans, ensure compliance with plans, and coordinate with contractors and utilities.

Based onsite at client sites in California, you’ll maintain project records, provide timely reports, and support change orders and inspections across bridges, foundations, and drainage structures while collaborating with the project team.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of California.
• Minimum 1 construction highway project for or on Caltrans.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience conducting roadway and highway construction inspection in major public works projects.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with stress analysis, structural mechanics, and strength of materials.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with physical characteristics and properties of various roadway and bridge construction materials including concrete and steel.

Responsibilities

• Provide inspection and quality assurance on highway and roadway construction projects for upcoming efforts.
• Determine if completed work follows the plans and specifications.
• Coordinate work with the contractor and various public utilities agencies.
• Maintain the records and reports related to the project.
• Coordinate directly with the general contractor and negotiate change orders.
• Assist in inspections to assure compliance with contract plans, specifications, and special provisions on all phases of structural construction such as bridges, foundations, walls, falsework, shoring, and drainage structures.
• Monitor and track contractor progress, prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
