Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Technical Director - Electrical Engineering (Generation) to join its Houston, TX office. You will provide regional leadership for electrical engineering deliverables, ensure compliance with codes and safety regulations, and guide strategic growth in large-scale infrastructure programs.

Responsibilities include leading complex projects, managing budgets and teams, and developing business opportunities across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 15+ years of post-education experience in electrical engineering and infrastructure design for power generation, transmission, and distribution.
• Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
• Advanced proficiency with electrical engineering principles, design, and permitting.
• Extensive knowledge of infrastructure design and related codes/regulations.
• Experience leading large-scale discipline programs, projects, and teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration with senior management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the most complex and largest scale electrical engineering projects, managing budgets, hours, and expenses.
• Oversee staff, subcontractors, and contract work to ensure profitability and quality deliverables.
• Drive business development, opportunity pursuit, and execution of infrastructure work within designated geography.
• Lead contract negotiations, presentations, and meetings.
• Align engineering discipline vision with business strategy and client value.
• Provide strategic advice to clients and cross-disciplinary teams.
