Job summary
AES Corporation seeks a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and integrated battery energy storage system (BESS) project development across the US and internationally. You will qualify opportunities, perform technical due diligence, and respond to RFPs from utilities, municipalities, and others.
The role focuses on preliminary design evaluation, coordinating with Business Development, Execution, and Finance teams, and requires 2–500MW project experience. Travel up to 15% is expected.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
- Proficiency with PVSYST, HOMER, SAM, Helioscope and Plant Predict.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office applications, advanced Excel.
Responsibilities
- Energy production modeling for projects in development (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
- Battery dispatch modeling for projects in development (Excel, Matlab).
- Site evaluation (remote and in-person) for project suitability.
- Project pricing and value engineering exercises with an Estimator.
- Create preliminary plant designs, site layouts, single lines.
