Job summary
AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and integrated battery energy storage system (BESS) project development across the US and internationally. You will work with a team to qualify opportunities, perform technical due diligence, and respond to utility and municipal RFPs, coordinating with BD, Execution, and Finance.
The role requires 2–500MW PV/BESS experience, proposal generation, and knowledge of financial metrics for PV systems and PPAs.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
- Proficiency with renewable energy modeling tools (PVSYST, HOMER, SAM, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
- Proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD).
- MS Office applications with advanced Excel skills.
Responsibilities
- Support business development and respond to RFPs for renewable energy projects.
- Conduct technical due diligence and preliminary design evaluation for PV and BESS projects.
- Coordinate with Business Development, Execution and Finance teams on project opportunities.
- Develop technical deliverables for RFP responses and project proposals.
