Job summary

AES Corporation seeks a Senior Development Engineer to lead solar PV and integrated battery energy storage project development across the US and internationally, aiming to grow owner-operated renewable plants. You will evaluate opportunities, perform technical due diligence, and coordinate with BD, Execution and Finance teams.

The role requires 2–500 MW scale experience, proposal work, and travel up to 15% to project sites and partner offices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
• Proficiency with renewable energy modeling tools (PVSYST, Helioscope, etc.).
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Energy production modeling for projects in development.
• Battery dispatch modeling for projects in development (Excel, Matlab).
• Site evaluation (remote and in-person) for project suitability.
• Project pricing and value engineering with an Estimator.
• Create preliminary plant designs and site layouts.
