Job summary

AES is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and integrated battery energy storage project development across the US and internationally. You will qualify opportunities, perform technical due diligence, and respond to RFPs for renewable energy procurement.

The role focuses on preliminary design evaluation, coordinating with Business Development, Execution and Finance teams, and requires 2–500MW project experience.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent technical field.
• 5+ years of renewables project development, design, analysis and construction.
• Proficiency with PVSYST, HOMER, SAM, Helioscope and Plant Predict.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Energy production modeling for projects in development (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
• Battery dispatch modeling for projects in development (Excel, Matlab).
• Site evaluation (remote and in-person) for project suitability.
• Project pricing and value engineering with an Estimator.
• Development of technical deliverables for RFP responses and proposals, self-performed or with external consultants.
• Support for RFPs, Greenfield Development, and Acquisition conceptual to 30% design studies.
