Job summary
AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and integrated battery energy storage system project development across the US and internationally, with a goal of increasing owner-operated renewable power plants.
The Sr. Development Engineer will perform due diligence, preliminary design, and coordinate with Business Development, Execution, and Finance teams. Travel up to 15% and experience with PV systems and PPA economics is preferred.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
- Proficiency with renewable energy system modeling tools (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office/Excel.
Responsibilities
- Energy production modeling for projects in development (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
- Battery dispatch modeling for projects in development (Excel, Matlab).
- Site evaluation (remote and in-person) for project suitability.
- Project pricing and value engineering with an Estimator.
