Job summary
AES Corporation seeks a Senior Development Engineer to advance solar PV and integrated battery energy storage projects across the US and internationally. You will work with teams to qualify opportunities, perform technical due diligence, and respond to RFPs for renewable energy procurement.
The role requires 2–500MW system design experience, travel up to 15%, and collaboration with Business Development, Execution, and Finance teams. AES offers competitive compensation and benefits.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
- Proficiency with renewable energy system modeling tools such as PVSYST, HOMER, SAM, Helioscope and Plant Predict.
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD; strong MS Office and advanced Excel skills.
Responsibilities
- Model energy production for projects in development (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
- Model battery dispatch for development (Excel, Matlab).
- Conduct site evaluations (remote and in-person) for project suitability.
- Assist with project pricing and value engineering with an Estimator.
- Create preliminary plant designs and layouts, select primary equipment.
- Perform technical diligence for new opportunities and support RFPs/Greenfield development.
