Job summary

Fidus Systems is seeking a Hardware Designer for a fully remote role with about 15% travel. You will architect and deliver complex high‑speed electronic systems, collaborating with FPGA, software, SI/PI teams across the full hardware lifecycle.

You’ll work on DDR, PCIe, SerDes, and multi‑layer PCB designs, lead reviews, mentor junior designers, and generate thorough documentation for production use. This role blends hands‑on debugging with system‑level thinking to deliver robust designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of direct electronics design experience.
• Strong fundamentals in high-speed PCB design and multi-layer layouts.

Responsibilities

• Develop system and board level architecture with hardware, FPGA, and software teams.
• Schematic design and component selection for high-speed circuits, SerDes to 32Gbps, and memory busses.
• Conduct LTSpice simulations and bench validation of circuits.
• Collaborate with the Signal Integrity team for critical nets analysis.
• Lead design reviews to ensure quality standards are met.
• Create parts libraries and schematic capture with embedded layout constraints.
• Develop test plans and procedures; lab bring-up and verification of prototypes.
• Address hardware/software integration issues with cross-functional teams.
• Lead regulatory certification testing.
• Generate technical and user documentation.
• Provide pre/post-project technical support to business and customers.
• Mentor junior designers.
