Job summary

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a Data Security Engineer to implement, operate, and improve data protection controls across the enterprise data estate. You will work with analytics platforms such as Microsoft Fabric and Databricks, and with Azure SQL and SQL Server to secure data pipelines and permissions.

This 100% remote role supports teams across the enterprise, with emphasis on encryption, key management, labeling, masking, and access control in a data-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information security or related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in information security, cloud engineering, data engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency with SQL and secure data practices.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and data protection controls.

Responsibilities

• Implements, operates, and improves data protection controls across the enterprise data estate.
• Configure encryption, key management, and access controls for data at rest and in transit.
• Embed security controls into data ingestion, transformation, and data sharing workflows.
• Collaborate with Security Operations, Data & Analytics, and IT teams to support data solutions.
