Job summary

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a Data Security Engineer to implement and enhance data protection controls across the enterprise data estate. You will work with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Azure SQL, and SQL Server to protect data through encryption, tokenization, and least-privilege access.

This is a 100% remote role (LI-Remote) based in the United States. You will automate control deployment, assist with audits, and collaborate with Security Operations, Data & Analytics, and IT

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in a IT/security field.
• 7+ years of information security, cloud engineering, or related work.
• Experience with data protection, encryption, key management, and access controls.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms and security tooling.

Responsibilities

• Implement data protection controls across enterprise data estate.
• Configure and manage encryption for data at rest and in transit.
• Enforce least-privilege access across platforms and databases.
• Automate security deployment, validation, and compliance using IaC and scripting.
• Document implementation guides, runbooks, and security controls.
