Job summary

Macy's is seeking a Senior Reliability Maintenance Technician to maintain and optimize automated materials handling equipment in our fulfillment network. You will be the subject matter expert for automation and MHE, mentoring technicians and leading shifts as needed to maintain equipment availability and safety.

The role requires experience with PLCs, CMMS, and blueprints, and flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays, in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Mechatronics Technology or 4+ years of industry experience.
• Skilled in electrical and mechanical disciplines in automation and complex MHE environments.
• Strong PLC controls knowledge.
• Experience using CMMS for proactive maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and technical documents.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Be SME on Automation and MHE and provide guidance on shift.
• Coach and mentor technicians on shift.
• Support Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor and lead the shift when needed.
• Ensure high equipment availability via troubleshooting and repairs.
• Install and maintain electronic, mechanical, and control systems in a distribution center.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns and communicate with affected parties.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by feeding back improvements.
• Read and interpret safety rules and technical documents.
• Use CMMS to track maintenance activities.
