Job summary

Macy's is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its warehouse operations. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on material handling equipment, including battery servicing for PIT batteries and related electrical tasks.

This role requires independent work on routine tasks and collaboration on team projects as assigned by the Manager or Supervisor. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED with maintenance experience, good communication skills, and flexibility to meet

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with two years of commercial or industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Works harmoniously and effectively with others as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
• Familiarity with OSHA and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Observe and diagnose malfunctions by watching operating machines and equipment.
• Report problems to the Manager or Supervisor.
• Dismantle, inspect, and replace defective parts.
• Install or recharge batteries for battery-powered material handling equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on Battery Changers and Facility Sweepers.
• Operate shop tools to repair or join metal parts.
