Job summary

Nametag is hiring a Senior Software Engineer focused on reliability and platform engineering. You will own infrastructure, reliability, and data pipelines to keep our identity verification platform fast, secure, and available, while building internal tools to accelerate engineering teams.

We value experience with cloud infrastructure, IaC (Terraform), PostgreSQL, and modern CI/CD practices. This remote-first role offers visibility in a fast-moving startup environment and opportunities to impact

Qualifications

• Cloud & infrastructure management and security experience required, AWS knowledge preferred.
• Terraform or equivalent IaC tools experience required.
• PostgreSQL database design, migrations, and performance tuning experience.
• Strong pipelines design and GitHub Actions expertise.
• Go language proficiency strongly preferred.
• Experience building logging, tracing, and metrics in production environments.
• Experience shipping ML infrastructure and data pipelines in production.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS and Fly.io.
• Own deployment strategy and service design across monolith and microservices; manage migrations and rollout safety.
• Manage infrastructure-as-code for reproducible, auditable infrastructure.
• Improve observability stack: logs, tracing, metrics, uptime monitoring.
• Own CI/CD pipelines and deployment best practices; build internal tooling to increase velocity.
• Operate data pipelines for ML verification systems and evolve MLOps infrastructure.
• Collaborate with leadership on technical roadmap; mentor peers; communicate tradeoffs clearly.
