Job summary

Xident is seeking a Senior SRE to ensure our verification platform maintains high reliability and 99.99% uptime. You will own SLOs, incident response, and the observability stack for services processing millions of verifications.

This remote-first company values privacy, scalability, and blameless postmortems as we grow across 12 countries. You will design and enforce SLOs, lead incident response, and optimize PostgreSQL-based systems while advancing our monitoring and chaos engineering

Qualifications

• 7+ years of SRE, platform, or production engineering experience.
• Expert knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, and alerting at scale.
• Deep experience with PostgreSQL operations — replication, backup, disaster recovery.
• Strong coding skills in Go or Python for tooling and automation.
• Experience running production systems at 99.9%+ availability.
• Proven incident response leadership and blameless postmortem culture.

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce SLOs/SLIs across APIs, workers, and databases.
• Own incident response — runbooks, postmortems, and reliability improvements.
• Design and maintain observability stack: Prometheus, Sentry, logging.
• Implement chaos engineering to identify failure modes.
• Optimize database performance — tuning and scaling.
• Build capacity planning models for scalable infrastructure.
