Job summary

Nametag seeks a Software Engineer to own infrastructure, reliability, and platform engineering, ensuring our identity verification platform remains fast, secure, and highly available. You’ll design scalable systems and tooling to boost engineering productivity and autonomy.

The role is hands-on, high impact, and requires collaboration with leadership to shape technical roadmaps while prioritizing uptime, correctness, and developer experience.

Qualifications

• Hands-on cloud infra management with AWS; Fly.io a plus.
• Terraform or equivalent IaC experience.
• Deep PostgreSQL experience with design, migrations, and performance.
• GitHub Actions CI/CD experience.
• Go or other modern type-safe languages; security-minded.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS and Fly.io.
• Own deployment strategy across monolith and microservices with safe rollouts.
• Manage infrastructure-as-code for reproducible environments.
• Improve observability: logs, traces, metrics, uptime monitoring.
• Lead and mentor, communicate tradeoffs to stakeholders.
