Job summary

Nametag seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own infrastructure, reliability, and platform engineering. You will design and scale the systems that keep our identity verification platform fast, secure, and always available, and build tooling that makes our engineering team more productive and autonomous.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role. You’ll work closely with engineering and product leadership to decide how we build, deploy, and operate our systems, then execute on them.

Qualifications

• Cloud and infrastructure experience with AWS; Fly.io or similar a plus.
• Production experience with Terraform or equivalent IaC tools.
• Deep PostgreSQL experience, including schema design, migrations, and query tuning.
• Strong CI/CD pipeline design and GitHub Actions experience.
• Proficiency in modern, type-safe languages; Go strongly preferred.
• Experience building and operating observability, logging, tracing, and metrics in production.
• Experience shipping ML infrastructure into production (MLOps).
• Startup experience at an early-stage company; ability to move fast.
• Security-minded by default; threat modeling and secure-by-default design.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS and Fly.io.
• Own deployment strategy and service design for monolith and microservices, including migrations and rollout safety.
• Manage infrastructure-as-code for reproducible, auditable environments.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and internal tooling to increase engineering velocity.
• Collaborate with product/engineering leadership on technical roadmap and security.
• Mentor peers and raise the bar on reliability, security, and operational discipline.
